Personally I found this article a bit humorous in my view because of Huppke (author) to the matter. Huppke starts out with a cynical tone about killing off all of the deer and then shifts his focus to the end of the world scenario. in my sense, this is almost like that one stressed out friend who just lost it. Furthering his claims of "the end of the world," he refers to a theoretical physicists, Stephen Hawking and his statement of finding a new planet within a 100 years because of "climate change, asteroids strikes, epidemics, and population growth." Huppke agrees with him and then, in a sassy tone, " In case you haven't notice, we have leaders who are erratic narcissists armed with nuclear weapons." That is like a mock to Hawkings and this is based on Huppke's personal observation on today's society, just emphasize it a bit dramatically. Could be his personality or for humor. His targeted audience, based on his informality and worrisome diction, is mostly to people, mainly young teenagers who have a "radical" view on the world. Young teenagers because the text is fairly simple and spoken in "the same language as them," and radical because sane people know this stuff already do not give much a reaction to it. Now, end of the world in not all Huppke talk about as he shifts to deer. Second half of the article is the part that gets me but is true. Reasons why Huppke wants all deer to be killed is because they scavenge human bones (if buried in the forest). Most people would think that deer are mostly herbivores but there is footage of deer eating small animals - I will post a link. Huppke complains and uses charged words such as "death", "bloodthirsty," "strike..." to convey the audience to murder all deer. Personally, if his goal was to convince that deer are evil, he successfully done so in a humorous way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQOQdBLHrLk - Deer Eating Bird (Watch on your own risk. Even I was shocked when I first saw this.)
